THE CRESCENT |
Property Owners Association |
President's Letter The Board has received numerous complaints this year regarding front yard patio furniture and unauthorized golf course activity. The Architectural Control Committee (The ACC), with the approval of the Board of Directors, has conducted a three month review of our properties, which has resulted in an amendment to more clearly define our guidelines. This addition regards the location of patio furniture and other accessories located in the front yards and driveways of homes. The Crescent guidelines can be found on our web site, http://www.thecrescent.us should you have any questions regarding this update or any other association matters, please contact Leslie Howard at Allied Management, 843-837-3278. We (the Crescent property owners) DO NOT own the golf course. Other board members and I have received dozens of complaints regarding dogs off leash, fireworks displays, children and adults playing softball, baseball etc on the course. Some of these activities have been conducted while there are still golfers on the course. Please contact Bill Layman, Director of golf @706-2600 to report these or any other unauthorized activities. Fall is upon us, enjoy the weather! Tom Caffrey President, POA |
To ALL Residents: June 6, 2011 During the past few months there have been several incidents that I feel need to be addressed. 1. Dogs off leash. Some property owners feel this is something that should be allowed. IT IS NOT. Let me mention that there have been residents bitten, attacked and chased by dogs off leash. There have been 2 recent incidents where an unleashed dog attacked another dog. In the past, an unleashed dog was hit by a car (an SUV)...luckily the dog survived. The policy we have for dogs is in accordance with State & Local Law and is a good one! The fine now in place is a severe one ($250.00), and it should be. 2. Unlicensed Drivers. I don't understand how a resident would complain because we would not admit a cleaning person, or anyone else for that matter, without a driver's license when operating a motor vehicle in our plantation. This is done to protect all residents. According to South Carolina law, you cannot drive without a current, and valid driver's license. Why is it so inconceivable to think that such persons would not be admitted to drive within The Crescent? There are 376 homes in the Crescent, easily over 700 men, women and CHILDREN!!! The Board is not perfect. We are guided by the covenants to keep up the community standards, and provide safety for all residents. The Board welcomes any/all comments on these and other issues that may be of concern. Tom Caffrey POA President |

Announcing a new $.05/copy copier service for Crescent residents |
| The Crescent POA recently installed a new Xerox copier in the guardhouse to reduce the cost of producing thousands of passes, maps and forms. Crescent residents can save money on copying costs by bringing their copy jobs to the guardhouse instead of using more expensive copy centers such as Staples. Click here to view the Crescent Copy Order Form for details. Dick McCusker |
Flyers in Mailboxes |
Postal regulations do not permit placing or attaching any "mail able material" as flyers, notes, invitations etc. into or onto mailboxes. The Bluffton Post Office has notified us that any material in the mailboxes will be treated as US Mail requiring postage. Accordingly, please DO NOT place any materials in or on mailboxes in the neighborhood. We are looking into alternative methods of delivery. Thank you, The Crescent Board of Directors |
