To All Residents:

The AED (Automated External Defibrillator) has been installed at the pool pavilion. Through independent research and through close work with the Bluffton Fire Department, we decided upon this unit for its reliability and ease of use in the event of an emergency.

Although tempting, PLEASE DO NOT OPEN THE CABINET EXCEPT IN THE EVENT OF AN EMERGENCY because doing so activates the alarm.

The addition of this unit adds to the commitment we have made to the safety of all residents. We hope that there will never be an occasion to use this unit, however should there be an appropriate emergency, these units save lives.

The AED talks you through the procedures as well as providing graphics at the same time. It will not shock anyone who does not require shocking.

We are working with the fire department to offer CPR/AED classes to our residents, in the members’ room at a cost of $20.00/person. Please contact Bob Feldman if you wish to sign up for one of the sessions. The classes run 1.5 to 2 hours and are very worthwhile.
